Removes mechanoid slag chunk drops from all mechanoids.
This is a simple patch that entirely removes the detritus Leavings section of race def for every Mechanoid that had it. Centipedes are a bit tricky in that it removes the detritus Leavings section from the from the parent “MechCentipede” race def that applies to all Centipedes that inherit from it.

A: No, it only affects the base game and DLCs

A: Yes, it’s a simple patch. Unless that mod works specifically with the <detritusLeavings> value of the vanilla game Mechs, in which case whatever it’s doing will just get patched out.
Q: Will this cause any error messages?
A: You may (Probably not) get an error message stating that the mod doesn’t have a preview image. I’m not going to fix it.

A: No, it didn’t. This mod is 50 lines of xml, doing a very specific thing.
Q: Why would I use this? What is it for?
A: If you build a common kill box.
(For new players, a common kill box is an entrance to your base with no doors, it tricks the AI path finding into funneling into a room that gives you a strategic advantage. In which you use a melee colonist behind cover to body block the attackers with 3 ranged pawns behind them to shoot over their shoulder, or some other design that requires your colonist to be in specific defensive positions to get an advantage.)
Without this mod, when a Mech is killed (especially in melee) it has a chance to spawn a Mech slag chunk under your defender, which will displace them into the line of fire. Effectively making your thoughtfully designed kill box a sure-fire way to get you best melee fighter killed and allowing the Mechs to pass through into your colony. Mechs are the only enemies that spawn debris like this, and most players don’t find out about it until the kill box abruptly stops working. This mod prevents that.
Q: Can this be added/removed mid game?
A: Yes, although you should never remove a mod even if the author says it’s safe to do so.
