Heavy Expensive Placeables

Heavy Expensive Placeables is a Factorio mod designed to increase the challenge of building placement in Factorio 2.0 and the Space Age expansion. It makes large structures more resource-intensive and harder to transport, emphasizing strategic planning for inventory management and rocket logistics.

Features

• Increased Recipe Costs: Multiplies ingredient costs by 3x (configurable) for buildings with a collision box area ≥ 2 tiles or in a whitelist (default: laser-turret, steel-furnace).
• Adjusted Stack Sizes: Reduces stack sizes to {1, 5, 10, 20, 50} based on building size for tighter inventory management.
• Adjusted Weights: Increases weights for rocket transport to {1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200} based on building size, affecting cargo capacity.
• Overrides: Specific overrides for key entities:
• nuclear-reactor: Stack Size = 1, Weight = 1000 kg
• crusher: Stack Size = 10, Weight = 200 kg
• Configurable Settings: Customize cost multiplier, minimum area, whitelist, exemptions, and whether to apply stack size/weight adjustments.

Settings

• Recipe Cost Multiplier: Default 3x, adjustable from 0.1x to 10x.
• Minimum Collision Box Area: Default 2 tiles, adjustable from 0 to 100.
• Whitelist: Default laser-turret,steel-furnace, comma-separated item names.
• Exemptions: Default rail-support, comma-separated item names.
• Apply Smaller Stack Sizes: Toggle to use modded stack sizes or vanilla.
• Apply Smaller Weights: Toggle to use modded weights or vanilla.
  

Compatibility

• Requires Factorio 2.0.
• Compatible with Space Age expansion (optional dependency).
• May conflict with mods that heavily modify recipes, stack sizes, or weights.
