You can now play 100% nature friendly using wind power from the very beginning, all you need is cut a few dozens of trees to produce a small amount of energy, I'm sure that mother nature won't mind.
Wind Generators produces free energy, but are expensive and don't have a steady output. This mods adds 3 tiers of Turbines, from small wood generators to massive steel turbines.
