What you found in game
This is a fully functional External Targeting Pod designed to be mounted on fuselage or wing hardpoints. It is essential for precision ground attacks using laser-guided munitions.
It is designed to use as initial spotting radar data feed, which then can remember a position and adjust manually using display for a better precision.
Interface & Controls
1. Enter inside EHCS pylons mode, search for the pylon on which the Pod is connected and press on "A" to activate it.
2. Use your radar as you would usually track a target to fire a missile. You have two options from there:
a) Continue tracking with radar, it provides real time position update. "SRH" - mode
b) Press on "Container Function" seat button to switch to position tracking, from which you can have better control on target position by pressing on display. "TRK" - mode
2.1 You also have a switch in the cockpit to use keyboard coordinates instead of radar, after which you also have to get into "TRK" mode.
3. Use "Horizon Stabilizers" for best spot tracking due to some math errors (while being a good practice, not mandatory if pilot is ready to take the risk), after which you can launch your laser munition.
!!! Don't forget to check if the munition is using laser frequency given by plane, and if it's not press on the controller to change "Laser Frequency" mode !!!

[b]11 January 2026[/b] – Modified reticle based on targeting mode "N/A", "SHR and "TRK". Also updated logic to account for laser distance when you're in "TRK" mode and press on display, it will keep the laser locked to the surface much better.
