[Rythena] M490EM "Eiffel" - Multirole Light Figh
Eiffel M.490EM
Any Runway Any Weather, also the rudder works
History
A lightweight single engine, single seat fighter aircraft armed with the RYTH CLA radar, a domestically produced five target radar. The aircraft features a flat underbelly which houses the radar pod along with rails to hold various Fox-1/3 missiles, Pivoting wingtip pylons for dogfights, a datalink, electronic warfare capabilities, and much more!
The Eiffel was developed by Rythena and Leninburg as a joint project to fill the role of a carrier capable supersonic multirole fighter that could effectively link with allied aircraft. The aircraft had a very good start run during early testing of the platform, but the collapse of Leninburg set the project back years. Eventually the aircraft would be completed under Rythena and would be exported to allied nations. Reports showed that its radar was quite lackluster, but its close in performance was very suitable for what pilots needed while fighting close quarters. The electronic warfare capability was a very nice addition to the airframe and proved to be useful when fighting SAM installations.
The Eiffel was also affectionately known as the “Mem” or “Emem”. This name came from the abundance of letters in its designation.
-E Electronic Attack, only appears in name on occasion
-M Rythena designation for “Model”
-360 360th Model
-E Electronic Scanning
-M The M variant that followed A,C, F, and G
The Engine Designed for the Eiffel is one of the most powerful Rythenian engines to ever hit the market. Using a two stage combustion chamber which is cooled via running fuel along the core of the engine, and utilizing an intake fan with a meter wide diameter, the Eiffel can hit an impressive max speed while not being terrible on fuel.
Fun Fact! The Eiffel was the first Rythenian fighter to use datalink! The early Link 28 prototype was implemented on the X490E platform. It would them become Link 30 which was fitted on the Tasca platform, and then Link 32 which was fitted to the Hawk NIO and the modern Eiffel.

Startup
>Master Electric
>Hydraulics
>FCS
>Hydraulics AUX
>Master Display
>Jet Master
>Fuel Master Valve
>Fuel Regulator
>Jet starter
>Throttle Up
>Parking Unlock
-Idle can be activated on jet control panel-
>Radar Master/Transmit
-Radar Hardlock mode switches from TWS and is easier to manage!
System Notes:
>The experimental Link 32 system is displayed on the lower MFD. The MFD will switch to a PPI radar when you turn on the HMD. The data link shows friendlies (and you) in Green. Targets appear blue when detected on radar, yellow signifies GPS targets, and purple shows shared targets. This is my first datalink, and it has rough edges, keep that in mind.
>LNAV zooms the map in
-EAP (Electronic Apature/Data Panel) Operation
>Search Datalink on the EAP will change the search mode to look for NN or Pyo datalink depending on the setting and will change the Jammer mode to target datalink.
>Jammer Mode (NN) switch allows the jammer to target NN link instead of Pyo
>Jammer activate activates the jammer (guh duh) and is on “Manual” by default. Manual mode means that whatever frequency is in the “A” input on the large keypad will be targeted.
> The frequency sniffer is upwards of the small EAP panel and will begin searching when you press the “Start” Button. A light will turn on when a frequency is found. “Reset” resets the sniffer to frequency 0.
>Transponder is a transponder…
-Targeting/Tinker TGP
> “PWR” switch turns on laser targeting and uncages the TGP. turn on “Mouse Aim” on the same panel, it will track head movement.
There is no display for TGP!
-The EAP keypad is colored gold and is to your far back left.
-Other General Notes/Operations
>When the radar is activated you hear a steady beeping tone.
>To datalink with Fox-3 Missiles, you must activate transmission on the radar panel (Panel below the Radar)
>Hardlocking uses a steady radar beam to target things, highly recommend using when firing munitions or targeting ground units.
>An “ARREST” Light will turn on when mounted to a catapult.
>Seeker tone enables the IR missile seeker tone
>Radar tone enables the lock tone
>Engine Idle and hotkey 3 both ungear the engine fans which lets the engine run while providing no thrust. Basically just use for overshoots, speed adjustment, or landing.
>HMS switch turns on a circular optic similar to the circle found on the HUD when firing long range radar guided missiles. The circle will increase or decrease in size depending on range and will display HOBS and radar lock.
--HMS also has a little targeting triangle for better awareness of target location relative to the nose of the aircraft.
>HOBS Allows the wingtip pylons to pivot. Basically only useful at low speeds, just a little gimmick that’s fun to use sometimes. The radar for the seeker tone is on the wingtips so you will get tone even if firing with HOBS on.
>The RTL (Radio target locator) screen on on the left side screen and acts kind of like a radar but for locked radio signals. The line may pulse when a target is locked.
This thing is old, I forgot a lot about it even after flying it more recently. I may have forgotten things. If you need anything specifically answered, ask questions
