Su-37 MKD "Flanker-M"
A commercially modernized heavy fighter that deliberately removed thrust vectoring for reliability and cost-effectiveness. Built by DRD Defence and Martlet Aviation around Motorsich M-421F engines and RD/APG-7 AESA radar, the MKD prioritizes sensor dominance and BVR engagement over agility. Functions as a long-range missile truck and battlespace controller, using disciplined emission control and exceptional situational awareness to dictate engagement terms. Export-clean design with open-architecture avionics supports rapid weapons integration independent of traditional OEM restrictions.

Su-37 MKD "Flanker-M"
The Su-37 MKD is a succesor of a Su-27M development program represents a fundamental reimagining of the Flanker lineage—built not for airshow demonstrations, but for sustained operational dominance. Developed by DRD Defence and Martlet Aviation, this privately modernized heavy fighter deliberately strips away thrust vectoring in favor of reliability, deploying Motorsich M-421F engines and an open-architecture design free from traditional supplier dependencies. Armed with the RD/APG-7 AESA radar and LUCH-42 directional RWR, the MKD excels at sensor-first engagements, using disciplined emission control and exceptional situational awareness to dictate when and where fights occur.
In combat, the Flanker-M functions as a battlespace controller rather than a traditional interceptor—maintaining energy advantage at high altitude, achieving first-look capability through advanced sensor fusion, and serving as a long-range missile truck in networked operations. The MT-AVIA WMS 0.1 enables rapid weapons integration from USC, Martlet, and DRD catalogs, ensuring tactical flexibility without political constraints. This is the Flanker that finally grew up: a 4.5+ generation platform that trades post-stall agility for the ability to see first, shoot far, and stay airborne when it matters most.

General Layout

Notes:
- Yellow markings stend for ping direction
- Red markers stend for hardlock warning
- RWR is still an early protoype so expect to be somewhat less reliable in terms of identifying exact direction that plane is being engaged from

This project is a big step in my cooperation with DRD, and specifically ZERO/Box.
It was made to level the playing field and bring some competition to this game, and yet now I hope it will stand as a monument to how much ZERO/Box brought to this game.
I also have to thank all of the DRD members for creating such an amazing community and giving me the opportunity to partake in something bigger.
ZERO/Box was probably one of the brightest constructors/engineers I’ve met, both in Stormworks and probably in real life as well.
As people say, the brightest fire burns out the fastest.
May the Holy Spirit be with their family through this tragedy, and I hope that we will be able to carry on their name and legacy, both in the game and in real life.
May the skies be clear and a tailwind follow you… there, beyond the clouds.

This project would not exist without my late friend, Shyzero.
His work on radars, flight control systems and avionics was far ahead of its time. So advanced in fact, so carefully thought out, that even now it feels less like something to improve upon and more like something to learn from. Many have tried to replicate or surpass what he achieved, but his understanding and execution remain unmatched.
Thanks to him and his work, I was able to help bring the Su-37 MKD to completion. These aircraft carry more than code and logic blocks. They carry his influence in every logic connection.
This workshop item stands as a tribute to him.
To a brilliant mind, a dedicated engineer, and a friend.
