Aspen AC-12 Dreamliner

The Aspen AC-12 Dreamliner Well that was a long break... Anywho, the Aspen AC-12, the biggest, heaviest, and fastest aircraft I have ever made that can also go farther than any other one of my airliners I've made. It weighs 118 tons, fly's at 315 knots, and can go as far as 2,780 nautical miles or 5,150 kilometers! First glance, it looks like an Airbus A380, which is where I got my initial fuselage length from, but the main inspiration came from the proposed McDonnell Douglas MD-12, which originally was going to be a full double decker tri-jet version of the MD-11, but they then made it a four engined jet. However, the MD-12 never came into fruition, and so far, the only commercial double decker jumbo jet ever produced is the Airbus A380 which even then itself had a short lifecycle. Airlines still operate it, but it never saw as much popularity as the 747 for two main reasons, size and fuel cost. Too big to fly into most airports, and too expensive to run anywhere that isn't highly demanding hub to hub runs. Pushing that aside, the aircraft features four brand new Aspen GE7XA engines and a two crew glass cockpit with full system automation. Initially attempted on the AC-11, I ended up not continuing it due to complexity, but on the AC-12, I got it working! The plane can haul 572 passengers over a distance of 2,780 nautical miles with 622,609.13 liters of jet fuel at a speed of 315 knots. Bigger, heavier, faster, and farther than the AC-11 or the A430 which was pretty insane to my brain when I got that number. I started this back in early November, took a long break from Stormworks and got back into it, made progress on the AC-11F and a glass cockpit conversion of the A430, both of those are pretty much done, but I have really been wanting to do a full double decker aircraft for a while so I started work on this. Between working and life, it took several weeks to get the fuselage done and the systems even close to done. Then several more weeks of system testing and ironing out bugs and glitches to get to this point but I am so glad I got to this point and I hope y'all enjoy it! Double Decker Fuselage Design The AC-12 features a full length double decker design, akin to the Airbus A380. The lower cabins feature at most a 3-3-3-3 or 3-6-3 configuration, and the upper cabin features at most a 2-3-3-2 or 2-6-2 configuration. In total, the lower deck can carry 352 passengers, and the upper deck can carry 220 passengers for a total of 572 passengers! The business classes stay the same at 2-4-2, but there's also six private cabins found on the forward part of the upper cabin, each with windows and their own lighting systems and a full sized bed for the long flights! Aircraft Operating Manual The AC-12 has its own Aircraft Operating Manual which goes into more detail than I can go into in this description, including a full step-by-step checklist and explaining each of the systems on board the aircraft. The manual is more or less a copy-paste of the AC-11s checklist but changed around to fit this jumbo. LIfe got interesting, lost motivation, and then life sort of changed. I graduated high school, got my dream car, moved out, picked up a full time job at a steel plant, been really busy but I'm starting to get back into doing things I really enjoy, two of those things being flight sim and Stormworks. I am still working on the AC-11F, it's almost done but I want to do something special for it following the crash of UPS 2976, a little memorial for those who lost their lives that day in my hometown. I also have a few other things I'm starting to think of, I have a glass cockpit version of the A430, I'm planning another widebody twinjet, an extended range version of the AC-11, two new turboprop aircraft, a new piston aircraft, a new narrowbody trijet even more accurate to the 727, and a new narrowbody twinjet. Pretty busy, zero ETA's or orders of any of it, but it's stuff I do want to do. But first, the AC-11F and the A430-200. I hope y'all enjoy the AC-12!
