The first of the James barges, launch December 16, 1889 by the James Co. of Houston, Tx. She had a good career for about five years until 1894. June 10th, it was being towed by A. B. James from Uran Wind Power Plant to JSI Dock. At 4:56 AM the tow hitch snap in the Lazy River at -9786.9, -33296.1. At 5:09 Crashed on to the shore of Gustav Island at -8859.4, -34851.0. The tugs crew didn't see it was gone until 7:43 AM when they where in Woe River. They went back and didn't find it until the 12th.
